Turn on/off in-App sound/vibration from the My Details screen on the friends tab.
Turn sound off under 'My Details' to stop Yak interrupting your iPod music.
To ensure you get notifications ensure your Notification settings are on for YAK in Settings->Notifications on your iPhone.
